Visitors can also join their mailing list to receive information on enrolling trials at AIDS Research Alliance, their quarterly flagship publication “SearchLight”, and community event information.

APLA – AIDS Project Los Angeles
APLA is AIDS Research Alliance’s Community HIV Vaccine Partner in Los Angeles. AIDS Project Los Angeles is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV, reducing the incidence of HIV infection, and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy. AVAC – The AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition

AVAC is an international, non-profit organization that uses education, policy analysis, advocacy and community mobilization to accelerate the ethical development and eventual global delivery of AIDS vaccines and other new HIV prevention options as part of a comprehensive response to the pandemic. This wide-ranging vaccine advocacy website provides information on how to become an HIV vaccine advocate along with a vast amount of information about HIV vaccines and current clinical trials.


Centers for Disease Control HIV Vaccine Unit
The CDC HIV Vaccine Unit is dedicated to finding a safe and effective HIV vaccine for use in the US and other countries. This site provides a brief history of the CDC’s HIV Vaccine Unit and states their current mission and goals. There is also a tab with information about vaccine development.

HIV Vaccine Research Education Initiative
This interactive website provides users with many useful tools and information on how to get involved with and support HIV vaccine development. There are also links to vaccine related news and events and visitors can sign up for an e-newsletter. También disponible en español.

HVTN - HIV Vaccine Trials Network
HVTN is an international collaboration of scientists and educators searching for an effective and safe HIV vaccine. HVTN is a leader in HIV vaccine studies worldwide. Their site provides information regarding the history of the organization, the science behind HIV vaccines, community participation opportunities, and information on current HVTN studies. Hope Takes Action
This site gives volunteers the opportunity to sign up for current vaccine clinical research studies being conducted by the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (see above). The Hope Takes Action site also provides general information about current research, answers to FAQs regarding HIV vaccine clinical trials, a list of clinical trial locations, and an e-card that can be filled out online and sent to potential trial volunteers.

IAVI – International AIDS Vaccine Initiative
IAVI is an organization dedicated to the development of safe, effective, accessible, preventive HIV vaccines for use throughout the world. This extensive site provides information regarding the HIV/AIDS epidemic, vaccine research and development literature, information on how to support HIV vaccines, and links to clinical trial volunteering opportunities. There are also links to HIV vaccine publications and news websites and articles.

National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day
This site provides information about National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, HIV vaccine facts, links to HIV prevention and treatment resources, and tips on how to take action against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. There are also sub-sections for other HIV related awareness days and events.

The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise
The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise is an alliance of independent organizations around the world dedicated to accelerating the development of a preventive HIV vaccine. This site contains information on how to get involved in the effort to develop a vaccine, the organization’s scientific plan, HIV vaccine news, and links to the AIDS Vaccine Conference.

AIDS.gov is the United States Government’s main HIV/AIDS website. Along with a great deal of general HIV/AIDS information, there are links to resources, videos, blogs, podcasts, news, and an RSS feed subscription link. This site also features a search engine helps users access HIV/AIDS info anywhere on US governmental sites.

Act Against AIDS
Act Against AIDS is dedicated to informing people about HIV transmission in the United States and stopping the epidemic. The site contains extensive prevention information. The site also provides facts about the spread of HIV, a search engine for HIV testing centers, resources for HIV positive persons, and information on how to become part of the solution. Greater Than AIDS
Greater Than AIDS is project focused on increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS issues in the African American community. This website contains links to HIV/AIDS resources and information about getting tested and getting involved. The main feature of the website is “Test One Million”, a project focused on getting one million Black Americans tested for HIV before June 27, 2010.

HIV Stops With Us
HIV Stops With Us is a campaign of HIV-positive and -negative people working together to end the spread of HIV through preventive practices. You can learn about the campaign spokesmodels – all real people living with HIV/AIDS, start a dialogue with a spokesmodel or learn about various resources and general information. There is also information about becoming a part of the campaign, including opportunities to share personal videos, pictures, and stories to help promote HIV prevention. Kaiser Family Foundation HIV/AIDS Resources
The Kaiser Family Foundation is an independent entity dedicated to making information about the HIV/AIDS epidemic accessible to the general public and any politicians or scientists who want to learn about HIV/AIDS epidemiology. This website provides policy reports, fact sheets, and survey data, and information on our media partnerships, journalist training programs, and HIV/AIDS initiatives in South Africa. In addition, it includes online news summaries and information resources provided through our free online resource, kaisernetwork, particularly the Daily HIV/AIDS Report and HIV-related webcasts, and State Health Facts Online and Global Health Facts information services.
